At the end of every summer, our church would hold a park picnic to eat great food, raise money for building restorations, and honestly just celebrate being Armenian. Highlights included competitive oriental rug raffles, interesting musical offerings, 4,000 pieces of baklava, and someone trying to arrange a marriage between Hillary and a man fresh off the boat. 

My "colleagues" wear clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch, obsess over flipping water bottles, and talk in a language that I work hard to understand. I'm an English teacher, and yes I consider my students to be my colleagues.

Ok, technically, this is just assembly. I'm not reinventing the wheel here. I say this to reiterate that I firmly believe that anyone can cook-- or at least, make a solid sandwich.

There are a lot of things I love about our 3 sisters eat project. It gets me to try spices I've never heard of, experiment with techniques I would normally shy away from, and make some of my favorite restaurant meals at home...
